Dr. Banira Karki is the first female Breast Onco Surgeon in Nepal with a Special interest in breast conservative surgery and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Banira Karki has garnered more than 10 years of experience in the field of surgery. Her main interest is oncoplastic and breast reconstruction surgery – achieving the best outcomes in cancer surgery and breast appearance.

Dr.Banira Karki collaborates closely with her oncology colleagues to use the latest drugs and treatments to preserve the breast and the axilla (armpit) with less radical surgery.

Working alongside plastic surgeons on the oncoplastic team she is able to offer a wide range of breast reconstruction surgery to maintain the breast shape and body image after breast cancer surgery.

Dr. Banira Karki is a highly qualified and accomplished surgeon with an impressive list of credentials. She holds a Fellowship in Breast Oncosurgery from the Tata Medical Center in Kolkata, India (2019-2020), a Training in Breast Oncoplastic Surgery from Robert Koch Krankenhaus in Apolda, Germany (2018), and a Fellowship and Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery from World Laparoscopy Hospital in Gurgaon, India (2013).

Dr.Banira Karki completed her MS in General Surgery from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan in 2013, and her MBBS from Quaid-E-Azam Medical College at Bahawalpur, Pakistan University of Health Sciences in Lahore in 2007. Moreover, Dr.Banira Karki is also an accomplished author with several publications to her name.
